Science Publication : Zebrafish behavioral profiling links drugs to biological targets and rest/wake regulation.
Harvard University published in Science on January the 15th, the results of its drug profiling using ViewPoint's high throughput technology.

"A major obstacle for the discovery of psychoactive drugs is the inability to predict how small molecules will alter complex behaviors. We report the development and application of a high-throughput, quantitative screen for drugs that alter the behavior of larval zebrafish. We found that the multidimensional nature of observed phenotypes enabled the hierarchical clustering of molecules according to shared behaviors. [...]"

"We can screen 112 compounds every three days, or 224 compounds per week." Dr. Jason Rhiel at Harvard Univ. "Read more on the screening technology...

Methods in ZebraFish Behavior analysis 2010
ViewPoint is organizing a 3rd meeting on "Methods in ZebraFish Behavior analysis".
It will take place in the center of Paris on Thursday the 6th and Friday the 7th of May 2010 .

If you plan to run experiments on ZebraFish, this meeting is for you !

High throughput ZebraFish studies involve an increasing number of labs around the world. But when setting up an experimental protocol, a number of challenges arises.
Based on successful “user case” experience, the meeting presentations will highlight the key steps to design and analyze your experiment. This year we will also promote networking among European University and Industries willing to deploy ZebraFish in their facilities.

New Software : ZebraFish HeartBeat calculation
ZebraFish cardiac cycle is an important parameter to verify the toxicity effect of a compound or to check physiological parameters of a mutant.
The ZebraLab software enable to automate this task and various experiment involving movement of organs (such as the gut transit).
